Fardeen Khan Praises Akshay Kumar’s Work Ethic Ahead of Housefull 5: “He’s 151 Films Young”

Fardeen Khan is set to reunite with his Heyy Babyy co-star Akshay Kumar in the highly anticipated fifth installment of the Housefull franchise, scheduled for release on June 6, 2025. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the comedy extravaganza boasts an ensemble cast of 19 actors, including franchise staples Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan.

In an exclusive interview with GQ India, Khan reflected on sharing screen space with Kumar, who he recently collaborated with in Khel Khel Mein. Speaking about the Bollywood superstar’s unparalleled journey, Khan remarked, “Akshay is 151 films young, so you can imagine the experience and skill set that he has as an actor. He’s excelled in every genre—action, comedy, drama—you name it.”

Despite his own 30-film career, Khan expressed admiration for Kumar’s continued passion for acting, saying, “Akshay’s at the stage in his career where he’s doing it for the love of what he does. He loves being on set, suggesting improvisations, and even offering lines that he thinks will elevate a scene. He’s an extremely generous actor and still works like a newcomer, which is very exciting and inspiring.”

The Housefull franchise, known for its zany humor and box-office success, promises to scale new heights with its latest installment. For Khan, the camaraderie on set has been a highlight of the production. “We’re having lunches and dinners together. Akshay is famous for playing Ludo all the time. There are so many industry anecdotes being shared, but those stories are staying on set,” he said with a laugh.

Khan, who has largely taken a step back from the limelight in recent years, called Housefull 5 “one of the most memorable movies” of his career, adding that the cast’s collective growth has brought a sense of ease to their collaboration. “Everyone’s a lot more settled and secure in their careers now, and that adds to the fun of making a film like this,” he shared.

The Housefull franchise first hit theaters in 2010 and quickly established itself as a cornerstone of Bollywood comedy. With Mansukhani at the helm and a star-studded cast in tow, Housefull 5 is poised to continue the series’ legacy as a crowd-pleasing blockbuster. Fans can mark their calendars for its theatrical debut next summer.
