SRINAGAR, Dec 14 ā Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted a series of raids across multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, recovering several digital devices as part of an ongoing investigation into a terror-related case, officials said.
Searches were carried out in the district jail in Anantnag, as well as in Kulgam, Udhampur, and Jammu, in collaboration with local police. The operation, launched early in the day, targeted specific blocks and barracks within the jail and two other locations in Kulgam, an official told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
“Six to eight digital devices, including mobile phones and tablets, have been seized so far,” the official said, noting that the raids were prompted by the detection of ātechnical signaturesā originating from inside the jail and linked to other suspects under scrutiny.
Authorities said the seizures are expected to aid the investigation into activities allegedly connected to terrorism.
The official added that further analysis of the recovered devices is underway to establish their role in the case and to identify any additional links to unlawful activities. No immediate details on arrests or specific case developments were provided.
