Hyderabad – A speeding car crashed into a footpath near Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital in Banjara Hills early Saturday, killing one person and injuring two others, police said.
The accident occurred around 3 a.m. when the vehicle ran over people sleeping on the pavement. The occupants of the car fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle at the crash site. Authorities have yet to identify the victims and the injured individuals.
Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to determine the sequence of events and identify those responsible.
“The car has been seized, and efforts are underway to trace the suspects,” a senior police official said.
Incidents of reckless driving and pedestrian casualties have been a growing concern in Hyderabad, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations.![]()
