Kishtwar, March 11 – A gas cylinder explosion triggered a massive fire in Neju Saroor, Drabshalla tehsil of Kishtwar district, reducing a house to ashes and leaving multiple people injured, eyewitnesses told The Chenab Times on Monday.
The house, owned by Rajinder Kumar, son of Tirth Ram, was completely destroyed. Kumar, his wife Renu Devi, daughters Sanjana Devi and Sohni Devi, and sons Kartik Kumar and Karnjeet Kumar sustained minor injuries. Neighbors and relatives Anil Kumar, Susheel Kumar, and Vipen Kumar also suffered minor injuries while helping during the incident.
Sajan Kumar, a relative of the family, described the chaos. “The fire spread rapidly after the gas cylinder exploded. Everyone was trying to escape, and some of us got injured while helping,” he told The Chenab Times.
All injured individuals are in stable condition, with no serious casualties reported. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
