KISHTWAR, May 9 (The Chenab Times) — One person died and another was injured after a vehicle plunged off the road near Gosi, in the Paddar area of Chenab Valley’s Kishtwar district, local sources told The Chenab Times on Friday.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. when an EECO vehicle bearing registration number JK17A-0912 was en route from Kijaie to Gulabgarh. The vehicle reportedly lost control near Gosi Atholi and veered off the road.
Sources told The Chenab Times that two individuals sustained injuries in the incident and were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment. One of the victims, identified as Shoaib Akhter, son of Mohammad Akbar and a resident of Karthaie, Paddar, later succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.
The second occupant, Hardeep Singh, son of Som Nath and a resident of Huryan Gwari, Paddar, remains under medical care.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the accident. Further investigation is underway.
