Two J&K Police Sub-Inspectors Killed, One Injured in Srinagar Road Accident

Srinagar, August 11 – Two Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspectors were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Srinagar’s Nowgam area during the intervening night of August 10 and 11, officials said Monday.

Authorities reported that a speeding KIA vehicle, bearing registration number JK21H-1919, struck a road divider at Tengen Bypass near Nowgam before going out of control. The crash left all three occupants – police personnel – injured.

They were rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced two of them dead. The third officer is currently receiving treatment.

The deceased officers were identified as Sachin Verma of 23 Battalion IRP, posted at Pantha Chowk, and Shubam Sait of 21 Battalion IRP, posted at Awantipora. The injured officer has been identified as Mastan Singh of 23 Battalion IRP.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
