DC Doda Issues Guidelines for Kailash Yatra 2025

Doda, August 19 — Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh (IAS), on Tuesday interacted with the media fraternity at the Camp Office to brief about arrangements and advisories for the upcoming Kailash Yatra 2025, scheduled from August 20 to 22 in Bhaderwah.

Singh underlined that the safety and security of devotees has been kept as the topmost priority. In view of the recent cloudburst incidents reported from Padder and Kathua, coupled with prevailing inclement weather conditions, the administration has imposed precautionary restrictions this year.

Women and children will not be permitted to take part in the Yatra due to safety concerns. The Chattergala route has also been closed for pilgrims as the stretch is vulnerable to heavy nallas and unsafe terrain.

The Yatra will be allowed only through the traditional routes—Sungli, Nalthi and Drafda (Bhalla). The sacred Charri Mubarak will accompany a prescribed group of yatris for a symbolic pilgrimage, ensuring rituals are performed in accordance with tradition.

Every pilgrim will be required to carry a valid identity card issued by the District Administration. A comprehensive deployment plan has been put in place, including the presence of officials, medical facilities, disaster preparedness measures, drinking water, shelter, communication systems, and security at all major points.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that three rounds of meetings were held with stakeholders before deciding to allow only the Charri Mubarak with designated yatris. He appealed to devotees to adhere strictly to the advisories for their own safety and assured that the administration, police, health and disaster management teams are fully committed to ensuring a safe, smooth and spiritually fulfilling Yatra.

The 2025 Kailash Yatra will thus be conducted in a safe and symbolic manner, balancing devotion with the well-being of all participants.
