SRINAGAR — Seventeen-year-old forward Azim Parveez from Kashmir scored on his international debut for India at the SAFF U-17 Championship 2025 in Sri Lanka, marking a milestone for Kashmiri football, according to details received by The Chenab Times on Wednesday.
Trained by Downtown Heroes FC, Azim’s standout performances earned him a spot in the Kashmir Super League with New JK United FC, where he impressed fans and selectors. His debut goal, celebrated by coaches Hilal Rasool Parray and Ajaz Ahmad, highlights his potential. “Azim is a gifted player with immense potential. If he continues with the same energy, discipline, and hard work, his future in football will be very bright,” they said.
Downtown Heroes FC Chairman Irfan Shahmiri hailed the achievement. “At just 17, Azim’s selection and debut goal for India are remarkable.
