Kishtwar: In a move aimed at promoting road safety, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani JKAS, distributed free helmets to two-wheeler riders near ITI Kishtwar on the occasion of Sewa Parv 2025. The event was held in the presence of Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Robin Parihar.
The campaign, specifically targeting two-wheeler riders, highlighted the life-saving importance of helmet use. Officials engaged with riders, educating them about the risks of riding without helmets and sharing practical guidance on safe driving practices.
Speaking on the initiative, ARTO Tasleem Wani said, “Our aim is to make our roads safer through awareness and action. Wearing a helmet is a simple step that can save lives.”
The drive received an encouraging response from the public, with riders lauding the efforts of the transport authorities. The event, organisers said, reflected the spirit of Sewa Parv, underscoring service, awareness, and collective action towards safer roads.
The helmet distribution drive forms part of a wider initiative to promote road safety awareness in the district and demonstrates the administration’s commitment to reducing fatalities in traffic accidents.
