President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will meet with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani in the Oval Office on Friday, November 21.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, Trump made the statement in a post on his Truth Social platform. “Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran ‘Kwame’ Mamdani, has asked for a meeting,” Trump wrote. “We have agreed that this meeting will take place at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st. Further details to follow!”
Information was available with The Chenab Times that Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist who won the mayoral election on November 4, confirmed the arrangement through a spokesperson. Dora Pekec stated that the meeting follows customary practice for incoming administrations and will cover public safety, economic security, and affordability issues central to Mamdani’s campaign platform.
The announcement comes amid public exchanges between the two leaders. Trump endorsed Mamdani’s opponent, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, during the race and referred to Mamdani as a “communist.” Mamdani addressed Trump directly in his victory speech, urging him to “turn the volume up.”
Mamdani is set to take office in January. No additional agenda details were released by the White House.
