Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Saturday that India is actively confronting the challenges stemming from the ongoing conflict in West Asia with full national capacity.
The Chenab Times has learned that the Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing a gathering at the inauguration of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. He asserted that the Indian government is implementing all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens abroad.
“Conflict has been ongoing in West Asia for over a month. India is confronting this challenge with full strength,” Modi said. He acknowledged India’s reliance on crude oil and gas imports from the conflict-affected regions. “The government is taking necessary steps to ensure the burden does not fall on families and farmers,” he added.
The inauguration of the Noida International Airport, according to the Prime Minister, marks a significant milestone in the developmental journey towards a developed Uttar Pradesh and a developed India. He further stated that the airport is expected to significantly boost economic activity in the region.
“Noida International Airport will create new opportunities for farmers, small traders and youngsters of Western Uttar Pradesh,” Modi said during the event. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, and other dignitaries. Extensive security arrangements were in place for the Prime Minister’s visit.
The first phase of the Noida International Airport, which is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 11,200 crore, is conceptualized as a multi-modal transport hub. The project aims to provide seamless connectivity through road, rail, metro, and regional transport systems.
According to an official statement, the airport’s development plan includes a dedicated cargo hub. This hub will have an initial handling capacity exceeding 2.5 lakh metric tonnes annually, with provisions for expansion to approximately 18 lakh metric tonnes. The airport’s initial passenger handling capacity is designed for 12 million passengers per annum, which can be scaled up to 70 million passengers annually.
The Prime Minister also conducted an inspection of the airport terminal after the inauguration ceremony.
