Seven individuals sustained injuries on Tuesday following a road accident involving a passenger auto in the Chenani area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Accident Details
The incident occurred at Kallaser Morh, involving an auto-rickshaw with registration number JK14G/2923. Officials reported that five of the injured were subsequently referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Udhampur for further medical attention. The individuals requiring specialized care include a 16-year-old from Gharian Kallan, a 26-year-old from Nagulta, a 90-year-old resident of Kallaser, a 66-year-old from Kallaser, and a 35-year-old also from Kallaser.
Two other passengers, identified as Soni Devi, aged 17, and Shavli Devi, aged 19, sustained minor injuries. They received on-the-spot treatment from attending authorities.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Police and local administration personnel promptly arrived at the scene to provide immediate assistance to those affected by the accident. The condition of the patients referred to GMC Udhampur has been reported as stable.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. The authorities are gathering information to understand the circumstances that led to the vehicle veering off course or colliding.
