Police in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir have attached immovable properties valued at approximately Rs 1 crore belonging to two individuals accused in a narcotics case. The action is part of the ongoing ‘100 Days Nasha Mukt JK Campaign’ aimed at combating drug trafficking in the Union Territory.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the attached properties include two residential houses located in Kujjar village. These properties are owned by Javid Ahmad Dar and Parvez Ahmad Dar, both sons of Bashir Ahmad Dar, who are reportedly involved in the case.
According to official statements, the accused individuals are implicated in a narcotics case where 200 kilograms of Fukki, a derivative of poppy, was recovered during the investigation. The attachment of their assets is a measure to dismantle the financial network allegedly supporting drug-related activities.
The anti-narcotics drive in Jammu and Kashmir has been intensified, with authorities focusing on seizing assets believed to have been acquired through illicit drug trade. The police have reiterated their commitment to taking stringent actions against individuals and groups involved in narcotics trafficking.
The campaign targets the disruption of drug supply chains and the recovery of proceeds derived from illegal narcotics. The Kulgam police’s action underscores the administration’s resolve to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and trafficking from the region.
