In what could have been a catastrophic accident, a Sumo vehicle with registration number JK06 4758, driven by Waseem Khan, son of Abdul Latief Khan from Khanpora, slipped and rolled down a road near Phagsoo village. However, luck was on the side of the passengers as minutes before the mishap, they had all been safely dropped off at their destination in Phagsoo, as per information reached The Chenab Times. The incident occurred on 22 July, sending shockwaves through the village nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Doda district.
According to eyewitnesses, the Sumo vehicle was on its return journey when the unforeseen incident took place. Miraculously, no passengers were present in the vehicle when it veered off the road, averting any potential loss of life. Only the driver, Waseem Khan, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Speaking about the incident, a local resident said, “We are thankful that all passengers had already disembarked safely. The accident could have been much worse, but the driver had already dropped the passengers minutes before the incident. We pray for his speedy recovery and hope that such incidents are prevented in the future.”
