Sarpanch Panchyat Kither hails effort of Tehsildar Bunjwah for organising Domicile certificate issuance Camp

The elected representative of panchyat Kither hails the efforts of Tehsildar Bunjwah Shri Irshad Ahmad Butt for organising three days long Domicile certificate issuance Camp at panchyat kither in Tehsil Headquarter Bunjwah. In a press statement, Sarpanch Panchyat Kither Mrs Husan Banoo said that Kither is one of the far flung panchyat in Bunjwah and is near about 7/8 hours journey by foot from Tehsil headquarter Bunjwah. The region is deprived of basic facilities and road connectivity. Adding that by organising such camps and awareness functions public is getting too much benifits from Government.

 

He further added that more than 500 Certificates were issued on the spot during the camp for which public of panchyat Kither whole heartly is highly thankful to Tehsildar Bunjwah for his tireless efforts towards society and hopes that all genuine issues pertaining for welfare of society may be redressed at an earliest.

Scores of students of third semester from Government College for women MA road on Saturday staged a protest at press colony here and demanded concession in college fee.

 

The protesting students as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that they are not able to deposit college fees amid the prevalant situation due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

 

“Our parents have not earned even a single penny since March this year due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, it is not possible for us to pay a huge amount at this juncture,” they said.

 

“We demand authorities to help the students belonging to poor section of the society at this time and give concession to us,” the protesting students said.

 

They urged the varasity authorities to look into the matter to ensure that their studies will not get affected.

The rural Development Department is working with the Panchayat representatives to divert the public exchequer and the authorities, despite being aware of this, are reluctant to investigate the matter for unknown reasons.

Well-known social activist Farid Ahmed Naik expressed these views in a statement issued on behalf of the press. Naik revealed that funds have been raised several times for the construction of a park near the crematorium in Pirpura area of ​​Panchayat Roti Padrana, but not a single penny has been spent on the ground level.

Providing information, Naik said that he had received dozens of complaints in this regard and to find out the truth of the matter, he and his team visited the said place and inspected the situation there on the ground. Complaints found correct.

He further said that more than Rs 1.5 lakh has been released from the exchequer in the name of constructing a park at the said place but it is not clear where the money was used.

During the visit, members of DRYWA, former Sarpanch of Panchayat Roti Padrana and a good number of people of the said Panchayat were also present.

Naik appealed to the authorities to investigate the matter as soon as possible and get to the bottom of the matter

Govt mulls to resume education process for class 9th-12th amid new SOPs in JK

The Jammu and Kashmir School Education department is mulling to restart the education process at High, Secondary and Higher Secondary level amid new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines of Government of India (GoI).

 

Top officials of the department said that they are working on the strategy to be followed while reopening schools in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

An official privy to the development told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that “the department is working out on the strategies to be followed on reopening of the schools as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued by GoI.”

 

The official said that the department was frequently holding the meetings in this regard to chart out as to how they will reopen the schools.

 

“With the announcement of resuming the academics, the students of 10th, 11th and 12th standard will be allowed to visit their respective schools on volunteer basis with the consent of their parents followed by the prescribed SOPs,” the official said.

 

“The department will also contact the Head of the Institutions (HoIs) to check their strategies in this regard,” the official added.

 

Meanwhile, department of Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR) of Jammu and Kashmir in its guidelines has said that 50 percent of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be permitted to be called to schools for online teaching, Tele-counseling and related work, in areas outside containment zones only from September-21.

 

In an order the DMRRR said, “Students of classes 9 to 12th are permitted to visit their schools in areas outside the containment zones only on voluntary basis for taking guidance from their teachers September-21.”

 

“This shall however be permitted subject to written consent of their parents or guardians as per the SOP to be issued in this regard by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare subsequently,” it reads.

‘After rise earlier, we have been able to contain local militant to a large extent’

 

Jammu and Kashmir’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for South Kashmir range, Atul Goel Wednesday said that the apart from the US-M-4 Carbine and AK-47, six Chinese pistols recovered from a truck at Jawhar Tunnel on Srinagar-Jammu highway at Kulgam district, were meant to recruit new people into militancy.

 

“Joint teams of security forces along with police stopped a truck and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition including US-made M-4 carbine and AK-47, besides six Chinese pistols. The pistols were seemingly meant for recruiting new people into militancy,” the DIG Goel said addressing press conference at Amno, SoG camp at Kulgam district of South Kashmir, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

 

He police have so far been able to contain the local militant recruitment after it witnessed a sharp rise earlier. “We will not allow the recruitment to gain ground again,” he said.

 

Asked about the arrests made and whether weapon consignment was meant to be delivered in South Kashmir, he said that two people including the driver of the truck and the Co-driver have been arrested and a special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted to find out for whom the weapons were meant to be delivered.

 

“Prima facie it looks like that the pistol consignment was meant for recruitment new youth. Investigations are on and more details will come to fore,” he said. “One thing is clear that weapon consignment was obviously to fuel militancy in South Kashmir.”

Atleast four persons injured in Gas Cylinder blast near Town Hall Doda on tuesday evening.

As per reportes, A gas cylinder blast in the Readymade shop belongs to Firdous Ahmed resident of Beoli,Doda on tuesday evening at about 07:30 PM in which 4 person recieved burn injuries and one vehicle swift bearing registration number JK02AE-4170 also damaged and other two more suffered partial damaged in the incident. Locals informed the police and fire tenders and rushed the spot and started rescue operation.

Injured shifted to GMC&H Doda for treatment. Reports said worth rupess lakhs of loss reported here as the shops damaged compelety. Later critically injured reffered to GMC&H Jammu for specialised treatment.

Injured person identified as Irshad Ahmed S/o Ali Mohd, Firdous Ahmed S/o Kaifaitullah, Khalid Hussain S/o Abdul Hameed and Irshad Ahmed S/o Mohd Ramzan R/o Doda.

District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Social Welfare Department organised an awareness Programme to observe International Literacy Day. Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Bhaderwah Subash Chander Kotwal was chief guest on the occasion whereas retainer lawyer Advocate Manjeet Razdan , Advocate Divya Kotwal was guest of honour and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik was resource person on the occasion . Speaking on the occasion retainer lawyer DLSA , Advocate Mohd Majid Malik said at the 14th session of UNESCO’s general conference in 1966, the first ever International Literacy Day was declared and since then it has been celebrated annually in an effort to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals and communities around the world. He said this year theme is ‘Literacy teaching and learning in the COVID-19 crisis and beyond: the role of educators and changing pedagogies’ and also informed that according to recent consensus, about 775 million adults lack the minimum education that is required to be literate and of those, 60.7 million children are out of school or are rare attendees.

According to the UNESCO’s ‘Global Monitoring Report on Education for All’ (2006), South Asia has the lowest regional adult literacy rate, at 58.6% and the causes for this illiteracy range from severe poverty and the prejudice against women.This day is celebrated in an effort to combat these problems and to provide a quality education for all. Retainer lawyer Mohd Majid Malik also said this year’s celebration is going to shed light on “the role of educators and changing pedagogies.” It thinks of literacy from the perspective of a lifelong experience and hence its importance for the youth and adults.He also said government of India has taken various steps to ensure higher literacy rate. Firstly Right to Education act declares that all the children upto the age of 14 are entitled to free compulsory education. Children are provided free education in the government school. Moreover, the expenses of books and uniform are also borne by the school for poor children. Mid-day meal is also provided to the children. Besides, there are many programs like ladli are introduced to raise the enrollment and education of girl child. Adult education is also taken up in many villages by the schools to spread awareness and literacy among illiterate adults, he added .

Convictions of Ram Rahim

A woman wrotes to Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana states in 2002 and to Union Home Minister, the Punjab and Haryana High Court, CBI and NHRC in which she described an incident involving Ram Rahim. The Punjab and Haryana High Court sought a report from the District and Sessions Judge of Sirsa, after submitting a report, the Judge MS Sular recommend a probe by a central agency. The Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered CBI to probe the allegations against Ram Rahim in the letter. The Chandigarh Branch, CBI registered a case of rape under IPC Section 376, criminal intimidation under Section 506 and insult to the modesty of a woman under Section 509. The letter was published in Ram Chander Chhatrapati’s four page Hindi eveninger, Poora Sach in 2002. In the same year, Ram Rahim had charges levied against him for the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati, who was writing articles at the time about Dera Sacha Sauda, and for the murder of Dera Sacha Sauda manager Ranjit Singh.

 

Special CBI Court in Panchkula, Haryana, delivered its verdict on 25 August 2017 in sexual assault case regarding a former Sadhvi, finding Ram Rahim guilty of two counts of rape and he was taken into custody.

Murder of Journalist

Later in January 2019, Ram Rahim was convicted of the murder of a Journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati who was shot in 2002 outside his home after reporting articles on the rape charges facing Ram Rahim. On 17 January 2019, Ram Rahim was sentenced to life imprisonment by Special CBI Court.
