The Mendhar Gunners under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division organized Republic Day Celebrations at Upper Darana Government School located at Upper Darana village, Mendhar (J&K) that adjoins the LOC. The event was coordinated with the help of Headmaster Mohd Salim and the village Sarpanch Nazir Hussain.
The Commanding Officer of Mendhar Gunners was the Chief guest of the event. In his address to around 150 students, he elaborated on the significance of Republic Day. He emphasized on the duties and responsibilities of citizens and encouraged the children to become proactive contributors to society.
The celebration witnessed the hoisting of the flag and the singing of national anthem and patriotic songs. The students also participated in a march past. Stationery and study material were distributed to the children at Upper Darana Government School.
The ceremony was a grand success and Mendhar Gunners took great pride in inspiring the youth of the nation to lead it towards greater heights.
