Army chopper crashed in Kathua district of Jammu division on Tuesday after developing a technical snag, officials said.
Officials said the chopper crashed at Purthu in Basohli, a hilly area in Kathua, at around 11 a.m. with 5 to 6 people on board.
According to them, the chopper hit a technical snag and crashed into a lake at the Ranjit Sagar Dam.
According to them, police and army teams have arrived on the scene to conduct a rescue operation.
The Ranjit Sagar Dam is shared by Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, but the area where the chopper crashed is in Kathua district, according to the official.
