Mufti Mohammad Fareed-ud-Din, Chief Executive Officer of the J&K Wakf Board, and students from Degree College Anantnag took part in a cleanliness effort in the world-famous Dal Lake on Monday.
The CEO Waqf and students from Degree College Anantnag assisted with the de-weeding and solid waste management procedure, as well as the extraction of lilies from the lake, under the supervision of the J&K Lakes & Waterways Development Authority.
Several organisations, including SMC, SDRF, NDRF, and NGOs, as well as students, took part in the Dal Lake cleaning effort on Monday.
The cleaning effort is part of the Swachhta Pakhwada Program, which was started on October 2 by Lieutenant Governor J&K from the SKICC. According to officials, the drive will last for fifteen days and will cover several regions of the lake.
They also went to the Doledem area, where LAWDA is extracting lilies on a massive scale.
The de-weeding effort in Dal Lake was also assisted by volunteers from the Home Guard Department on this occasion.
It’s worth noting that the LAWDA has deployed 16 high-tech machines to remove lily and undesirable weeds from Dal Lake.
