For individuals who receive their COVID-19 vaccination doses, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in Gujarat is offering a litre of edible oil and a chance to win a prize in a lucky draw event.
According to information supplied by AMC’s Medical Officer, Dr. Rajnikant Hemraj, the effort was begun to raise awareness among the underprivileged to get vaccinated so that the district can reach 100% immunisation.
Dr. Hemraj told ANI, “We initiated this programme to generate awareness among slum and impoverished communities to get vaccinated and reach a 100% vaccination aim.”
He went on to say that there is also a fortunate draw contest for those getting their shots.
“Additional gifts worth ₹10,000 each will be given to 25 people on winning the lucky draw,” he said.
According to the AMC, almost 98 percent of eligible beneficiaries in the city have gotten the first dosage of the vaccination.
According to the report, 68,32,514 doses have been provided in the city thus far, with 45,46,745 persons receiving their first dosage and 22,85,769 receiving their second.
For access into BRTS bus service, Kankaria lakefront, zoo, Sabarmati riverfront, libraries, gymkhanas, swimming pools, sports complexes, city civic centre, and all other AMC facilities, the first dosage of the vaccine is required.
The AMC has also established facilities for persons over 50 and those with disabilities over the age of 18 to be vaccinated at home.
