A short column about rafting in Doda.
04kms of rafting and 04 rapids named Morning Glory, Micky Mouse, Xtreme Surprise and The Caliper grading class 2 to class 3+..really adventurous to raft down this thriller.
Started from Shibnote, Prem Nagar and soon after put in one have an encounter with class 2 rapid Morning Glory one has a narrow escape from left side drop of 3..4 feet and than a flat section, soon after Morning Glory a thriller rapid Xtreme Surprise a big one grading 3+ having length more than 400mtrs in which one has to follow main current but at last point one has to avoid rocks so need to get out of main current to escape an encounter with rock wall on left side to avoid a capsize.. So always be prepared for big thrill here.
Micky Mouse Rapid
Than it’s almost a flat section of 2kms followed by a 1+ or sometimes 2 grade rapid named Micky Mouse and soon after there’s almost a flat section with small mid as well side eddies. A perfect for body surfing and big rocks on right as well left add some thrill for cliff jump lovers, it can also be promoted as a small break point or like Maggie point.
The Caliper rapid
After having some masti time at Cliff jump point/Maggie Point one has to paddle a little hard to come out of eddies and a flat waters to encounter the last one but a big one rapid named The Caliper , one can guess it’s capacity by name The Caliper as it’s totally Unpredicted coz sometimes it’s a 2 grade rapid but sometimes it’s 3+.One has to be fully prepared to get a fall or sometimes a flip if choosing a left approach to it. This one is the last one of our 4kms rafting trip.And from my past 15 years experience of rafting in different rivers this one is the best one for white water lovers.

The rafting season is scheduled upto 30th April and we are providing 03 trips everyday at 11Am, 1pm and the last one of the day at 3pm respectively.
