District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah celebrated Constitution Day today on the premises of the Government Higher Secondary School for Girls in Bhaderwah, where the preamble to the constitution was also read. Bharat Bhushan, the principal of the school, served as the chief guest. Vice-principal Brijesh Kumar, lawyers Mohd Majid Malik and Devyia Kotwal, teacher Sujata Mangotra, PLV Omesh Chouhan, Afsha Shamim, and Reeta Devi were also present.



Resource persons Advocate Mohd Majid Malik and Advocate Devyia Kotwal, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted important provisions and the most cherished and beautiful values enshrined in the document. Both speakers agreed that in order to fulfil our roles at all levels in pressing these rich ideals into service, we must remember the beloved principles, ambitions, and aspirations that underlie the constitutional provisions on this day.
“The Constitution of India was officially adopted on November 26, 1949, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950,” said Adv. Mohd Majid Malik. Constitution Day serves to raise awareness of the value of the constitution and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He added that the Indian constitution guarantees its residents equality, liberty, and justice and defines the nation as a sovereign, secular, socialist, and democratic republic.
Adv. Mohd Majid Malik added that the constitution now has 448 articles and 100 amendments, and the Preamble is a brief statement that enumerates the goals and aspirations of the Indian people. He said that it took 24 years, 11 months, and 18 days for the Indian Constitution to become operative.
