Three vehicles were seized by DMO Doda for illegal mining in Doda district, official said on Monday.
Officials told The Chenab Times in a statement that a team of the Mining Department, under the supervision of District Mineral Officer Doda Sunil Manhas, made a surprise visit to the Dudwar Nalla area and seized the vehicles. The action was taken on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, and with the full cooperation of the Police Department, specifically SHO Gandoh Vikram Bandral.
The vehicles have been booked under the Mining Act and authorities have warned that they will intensify their efforts to crack down on illegal mining activities in the area. Anyone found to be involved in such activities will be dealt with strictly according to the law.
This action comes as a stern warning to those engaging in illegal mining in the region, and serves as a reminder that the authorities are committed to upholding the law and protecting the natural resources of Doda.
