In a bid to expedite the services of various government departments and benefit the people at large, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced its intention to use drone technology. The state government plans to use drones for a wide range of purposes, including supervising state schemes, managing traffic, rescuing stranded trekkers, monitoring forests and wildlife, and detecting illegal mining activities.
According to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the use of modern technology is necessary to expedite the services of government departments. He believes that drones can play a pivotal role in various sectors, including health and agriculture. In the agriculture sector, drones can be used to spread micronutrients, he said.
The decision to use drones is expected to revolutionize the way the state government monitors and manages various schemes and activities. Drones will help officials to get a bird’s-eye view of various areas and help them make informed decisions. The use of drones in traffic management is expected to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety.
In addition, drones will be used to rescue stranded trekkers in the state’s treacherous terrain. This will provide a faster response time and ensure the safety of trekkers.
The use of drones in forest and wildlife management is expected to provide accurate and real-time information about the health and behavior of wildlife. This will help officials to take appropriate measures to protect wildlife and their habitats.
The use of drones in detecting illegal mining activities is also expected to have a significant impact. Illegal mining is a serious problem in the state, and the use of drones will help officials to identify and take action against illegal mining activities.
