In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police intercepted and seized 2.8 kilograms of narcotics near the International Border in the Ferozepur sector on Wednesday.
Acting on specific intelligence, a combined search effort was initiated by the BSF and Punjab Police on the outskirts of Machiwara village. According to a statement by a BSF officer, during the operation, three suspicious packets were discovered concealed within a plastic bag in the fields adjacent to the village.
The contents of the packets are believed to be heroin. The seized evidence will be used in ongoing investigations to uncover the source and potential distribution network of these narcotics. The plastic bag containing the suspicious packets was found to have a ring-type hook and four red illumination sticks attached, suggesting potential intricate involvement in the smuggling operation.
