In a tragic incident that unfolded on Thursday afternoon, a retired Army personnel lost his life, while his wife and daughter sustained severe injuries when their vehicle collided with a truck along the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch national highway.
The accident occurred at Dandesar village when an Alto car, bearing registration number JK11B-4049, en route from Rajouri to Jammu, collided with a truck bearing registration JK02AL-2569.
Three family members were in the ill-fated car at the time of the accident. They were immediately rushed to the sub-district hospital in Nowshera for medical attention. Tragically, one of the injured individuals, identified as 45-year-old Mohammad Sageer, succumbed to his injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital. Mr. Sageer was a retired army personnel, son of Mohammad Idress, and a resident of Chowkian.
The deceased’s wife, Tabassum (30), and their daughter, Gousia (12), were in critical condition and subsequently referred to the GMC Associated Hospital in Rajouri for specialized care.
Dr. Rajinder Langar, Chief Medical Officer of Rajouri, provided an update on the medical conditions of the injured. He stated that Gousia is presently on ventilator support due to the severity of her injuries, while Tabassum, though out of immediate danger, sustained multiple fractures.
