After fighting with life for three days, the driver of the Suigwari Doda minibus succumbs, death toll rises to 14

'Left three minor children and wife at his home'

Three days after a minibus mishap in the Suigwari area of Chenab valley’s Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, the driver of the vehicle succumbed at GMC Jammu on Saturday.

He was identified as Parvez Ahmed, son of Khursheed Ahmad, a resident of Thathri (Doda).

A relative of the driver confirmed his death to Chenab Times and said that Parvez Ahmed had three little children, including a 13 year old son, a 10 year-old daughter, and a 3 year old son and a wife. He said that he was living a poor man’s life and earning his livelihood from the vehicle. An unfortunate accident that claimed the lives of more than 14 people has now rendered these three minors paternal orphans.

The accident of a minibus bearing registration number JK17 4021 occurred on Thursday near Suigwari in which eight people were killed on the spot, while others succumbed in GMC Doda and GMC Jammu, raising the death toll to 14 on Saturday.
