In a conversation with Chenab Times, Econ said,
“Every song was already written but it took me almost 2 years to fully release my album because of the having troubles with internet in our valley and also because of the lockdown.”
“It took a day to shoot the video, then it took a week to edit the music video,” he added.
“This is the last song of “Kashur” album, but there will still be more songs in Kashmiri”, according to him.
This story of Warukh is based on a person whom people made mental I’ll, leaves his society—wanted to remain self-reliant and stay far away in the mountains.
“I got the inspiration from my cousin who’s mentally ill and also my friend who’s the same, the idea came together because of them, the way they are is somehow the fault of this society, the motive of the song is that a person who has been made mentally ill by people has decided to stay away from everybody far away in the mountains,” Econ said.
Econ started this song preparations three months ago, he used to watch videos related to mentally retarded character. Even he didn’t cut or shaved his hairs, beard etc. for three months to get into the character.
Well, Econ has been rapping in Kashmiri. Now he plans to rap in Urdu also.
“There will be some collaborations before and some surprise releases before I work on my next album,” Econ said.
Mustafa Ali is the director of the video who is a good friend of Econ, he met him because of his brother who was already Econ’s friend and is included in his Hip Hop group named “Dohrnii” formed of 4 members.
