District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara today kick started the Blacktopping work on 6Km strech of Kuleed -Hullar road.

Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik, Executive Engineer PMGSY Division Kishtwar Bashir Ahmed Khandey, Assistant Executive Engineer PMGSY, Rajesh Kumar, Sarpanch Panchayat Lachdayaram A, Zamrooda Begum other PRI members among others were present on the occassion.

The approved cost of this road project is Rs.537.42 lacs.The work on the said road commenced on November 2018 and is targeted to be completed in all respects by December 2020, said XEn PMGSY kishtwar.

DDC asked the XEn to ensure the quality of work and complete it within timeline.

He also asked for strict adherence to SOPs and protocol of COVID-19 pandemic at the work place.

Enroute he also meet with the locals of the Hullar village and listened to their grievances patiently. They apprised him of their various problems including pending land compensation of the land acquired for the road,dilapidated condition of the drains along the sides of road ,dumping of scrap and damaged vehicles along roadsides and dumping of household solid wastes on road .

 

After listenting to their grievances, DDC Kishtwar directed XEn PMGSY Division Kishtwar to ensure proper maintenence of the drains along road side within a week time ahead of his next visit.

 

He further directed SHO Kishtwar to remove all the damaged vehicles along the road side on immediate basis for the safety of people.

 

He also reviewed the Progress made under week long Gandagi Mukt Bharat campaign and other various events which were conducted across the panchayat.

74th Independence Day Celebrated In GHSS Goha Marmat

It was a red-lateral day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show. The main Programme is celebrated at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Besides, this festival is also celebrated in every city and town, in school, college and University. Govt Higher Secondary School Goha also celebrates this festival every year. For this year, Govt Higher Secondary School Goha had made all the preparations in collaboration with all the departments. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic there was no invitation to any one as a precautionary measure.

 

On the requests of Principal GHSS Goha Rajinder Singh Tehsildar Executive Magistrate Class Ist was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He hoisted the national flag on the special request of the Principal and all other subordinate staff of the jurisdiction of Tehsil in the school playground at 09:00AM. A troop of Jammu and Kashmir Police from police post Goha and the students and teachers saluted the flag and then sang the National Anthem. Chief Guest of the day Sh Rajinder Singh addressed the presentees. In his speech Chief Guest requested the people to follow the SOPs of Corona. Then followed the cultural programme. In the welcome address, the Principal delivered the short speech and welcomed all the presentees and also through the light on the supreme sacrifices of the great martyrs who laid their lives for the sake of freedom. He also said that the freedom is very precious and it isnecessary to preserve it. The Principal also told to follow the ideals of the great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose etc. Then some more Studentsdelivered speeches on the occasion. The dignitaries who were present in the programme include Chief Guest Tehsildar Marmat, Principal Hr Sec School Goha, IC PP Goha, Medical Officer PHC Goha, Headmaster GHS Roat, Headmaster GHS Barri, Headmaster GMS Goha, Headmaster UGPS Goha, Principal ULI Goha, Headmaster PS Chabbrote, Headmaster PS Chemote and Headmaster PS Dugga etc. In the end of the ceremony, refreshments were distributed among the students.

Truck catches fire along Highway at Jawhar Tunnel, traffic suspended

The vehicular movement along Jammu-Srinagar highway was temporarily suspended on Saturday after a truck caught fire at Jawahar Tunnel in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

 

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a truck bearing registration number (JK13B-2215) was parked on the roadside at Jawahar Tunnel when it suddenly caught fire and flames engulfed the entire vehicle.

 

The vehicular movement along the highway was temporarily suspended after the incident took place, they said.

 

The truck driver identified as Ajaz Ahmad Lone escaped unhurt and the situation is completely under control, the officials said.

The school authority have sent message to students and parents, informing about virtual Independence Day celebrations.

During the Virtual I-Day the students of above said school has displayed their talent from their home .

“Kids have displayed talent by showing paintings, singing ,dancing and other activities through online Video today from their homes “, the administrators of the school informed and added that even some have unfurled the National Flag at their home and showed their patriotism even during pandemic as a responsible citizens of India, they said.

They also informed that they are continuously taking class through Video aid even some weekly and monthly routine activities of the students have taken up during lockdown through Video.

JKAP 7th Battalion has celebrated 74th Independence Day at Battalion Hqrs APC Channi Himmat Jammu. The social distancing was kept in mind during the event. The Flag was hoisted by Shri Suneel Raj –JKPS, Commandant JKAP 7th Battalion at 07:40 hours at Battalion Hqrs Channi Himmat Jammu. During speech the officers and jawans were congratulated for celebrating Independence Day and also for continuously performing COVID-19 duties as well as law and order duties in Jammu province. Besides, freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country were remembered. The best deserving officers/officials were rewarded suitably and certificate in this regard has been awarded to them during the event. Independence Day Celebrations: AGS Potha

To reinvigorate the sentiments of National Integration and to instill feelings of patriotism, staff of AGS Potha celebrated 74th Independence Day with full fanfare & fervor.

 

The celebrations were presided over by Commander, 6 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, the Chief Guest and was attended in full strength by AGS Management & Teachers. The event outlined significance of the Day and generated enormous goodwill amongst the attendees.

 

The event included National Flag hoisting and singing of National Anthem. The Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech to all the attendees. The teachers of the AGS were felicitated & awarded with appropriate gifts for their hardwork, dedication and sincere teaching work during lockdown through Online education.

First time in 74 years, PM’s speech displayed live on big screens at Srinagar areas

For the first time in 74 years, Jammu and Kashmir administration had installed LED screens at vital locations in Srinagar displaying Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s Independence Day speech live.

Witnesses told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that projectors were installed at TRC crossing, Jehangir Chowk and other parts of Srinagar.

“The prime minister’s speech was displayed live on the big screens. This was for the first time that PM’s I-Day speech was displayed live on big screens in Srinagar areas,” an official said. “Big screens were fixed at various points in Srinagar,” the official said.

 

This was the first I-Day in J&K as a UT. On August 5 last year, GoI stripped off the special status of erstwhile status guaranteed under Article 370 and sliced J&K into two Union Territories—Ladakh and J&K.
