15 Kg Poppy Straw Recovered : 3 Arrested

Udhampur Police today recovered 15 kg of Poppy straw at Flata, NHW, Udhampur.
Based on a reliable information regarding smuggling of poppy straw, a police party of PS Rehambal comprising of led by Insp. Paramjeet Singh SHO PS Rehambal under supervision of Sh. Zahir Saif Wani, Dy.SP Hqrs ĺaid naka for checking of vehicles. During checking, police party intercepted one Xylo bearing registration no. JK05C -0991. During the checking of said vehicle, 12 kg poppy straw was recovered from the said vehicles. The accused driver namely Javed Ahmed Wani S/O Ghulam Ahmed Wani R/O Delina, Baramulla alongwith Gurdeep Singh S/O Hazoor Singh R/O Patamgam were arrested on spot and recovered poppy straw was also seized.
Police party also arrested the person to whom the above said accused persons used to sell the narcotic regularly was identified as Mukesh Kumar S/O Surinder Pal R/O Nandanpur, Jalandhar and from search of his vehicle bearing registration no. PB11BN 3023, 03 Kg of poppy straw was also recovered from them.
In this connection, A case FIR No. 133/2018 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation of the case is going on.
