Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday said that the party won’t handle any intermediary contender for the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections in the state, slated to be held from October 08, 2018.
PDP chief representative, Rafi Ahmad Mir while responding to the reports about proxy candidate stated, “There was no question of fielding proxy candidate at this juncture.” He said that the party keeping in perspective of the situation on ground that was made because of the Article 35-A case has already chosen to boycott the upcoming elections.
PDP chief representative said that the party isn’t against the democratic procedures but at present war like circumstance has been made in Jammu and Kashmir before the polls. “4 Panchayat ghars were set burning by unidentified people up until now in Kashmir. The party after exhaustive consultations saw that the general public at present are in no state of mind of Panchayat and ULB surveys, in this manner chose to avoid the elections” he said. Mir said that the general public at present are disturbed and it was upcoming for the party to run with the aspirants of people.
He said that preceding the elections, the political parties have completed a few promises with the people however those promises have not been satisfied. “There was a need to receive people-friendly policy as opposed to indicating self-importance,” he stated, including that the people-friendly policy would prove to be fruitful.
