Comedian James Acaster has vehemently refuted a report alleging he complained to producers about his co-stars on the reality television show ‘The Celebrity Traitors.’ The report, published by The Mail on Sunday, claimed Acaster expressed discomfort with ‘macho banter’ during filming.
The Chenab Times has learned that Acaster, known for his role in ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,’ addressed the allegations on Alan Carr’s ‘Life’s A Beach’ podcast. He expressed astonishment and described the report as ‘completely fabricated,’ asserting that he has never had issues regarding such banter on set.
Acaster’s comments directly challenge the narrative presented in the newspaper article, which suggested a behind-the-scenes conflict involving himself, Rob Beckett, and Romesh Ranganathan, who are also participants in ‘The Celebrity Traitors.’ The show itself involves contestants attempting to uncover a group of saboteurs, known as traitors, among them.
The comedian’s strong denial aims to set the record straight and counter the suggestion that he raised grievances about the atmosphere on set with the production team. The report had implied a rift between Acaster and his fellow contestants due to perceived ‘macho banter,’ a term often associated with overly assertive or aggressive masculine behavior.
Acaster’s public refutation on the podcast signifies his intention to distance himself from the claims and highlight what he views as misinformation. The specifics of any alleged ‘macho banter’ or Acaster’s supposed reaction were not detailed in the initial report beyond the general description, making his denial a direct rebuttal to the core accusation.
As a prominent figure in the British comedy scene and a recognizable actor, Acaster’s clarification is likely to draw significant attention from fans and the media alike, particularly concerning the dynamics of the popular reality competition series.
