Appeals people to strictly abide by COVID protocol

 

 

Chairperson, Block Developmental Council, Gundna today extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, wishing them well-being and prosperity.

 

In his message of felicitations on the eve of this auspicious occasion, Natnoo said: “Eid gives us the message of love, unity and brotherhood. Sharing happiness increases them. Extending help to the poor and needy will also usher happiness in their lives. In view of COVID-19 pandemic, I appeal the people to observe this festival with utmost caution and abide by the social and health protocols of COVID-19 so as to stem the spread of this deadly disease.”

 

He said the holy occasion teaches us to maintain high principles of selfless service to the Almighty Allah and humanity and expressed hope that this Eid will strengthen communal brotherhood, harmony and bring peace, prosperity and well-being to Jammu and Kashmir and the people all over the world.

Malik welcome National Education Policy , calls it competitive

Advocate Mohd Majid Malik hailed the New Education Policy announced by the Centre to under educational reforms in accordance with the changing times globally. Malik welcomed the decision in favour of the mother tongue as the medium of instruction to the students up to 5th class. He further said that the new policy was in the nature of making the students well-prepared to take on the emerging competition in the world.“I welcome the approval of National Education Policy 2020 by the Union Cabinet chaired by PM . I am sure that this reform will boost the education sector and pave way for our youth to compete with the best from across the world,”said Malik .Advocate Mohd Majid Malik also said the new education policy would bring about significant changes in the country’s education sector. “It is necessary to mould the students into a highly motivated and competitive youth in today’s competitive world,” Malik said.“The NEP is groundbreaking! The checking was aimed to ensure that only good quality of items are put on sale and to curb black marketing & profiteering of essential commodities, during the checking number of trader’s accross the District was booked and fined for violating the norms.

 

Officers have warned the traders and shopkeepers not to indulge in overpricing, black marketing, hoarding or any violation of essential commodities otherwise strict action under law will be taken against the violators, General public of the areas has hailed the action of department concerned

 

Meanwhile AD FCS&CA has appealed people to purchase Eid essentials on government approved rates and if they find anyone indulging in overcharging may be reported to his office for immediate necessary action

Militants attack forces party in Pulwama, no injury reported

Militants attacked at security forces party in Pulwama district of southern Kashmir, however, there was no loss of life or injury in the incident.

 

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that militants fired upon a casper vehicle of 44 Rr at Drubgam Payeen area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, when they were going through the area.

 

There was no injury or loss of life, he said, adding that the area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.

 ‘Wagay was arrested in Amritsar on April 26’

 

The National Investigation Agency on Thursday carried out a raid at the residence of man arrested in Amritsar.

 

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a team of NIA carried a raid in Nowgam Khandaypora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district at residence of Hilal Ahmad Wagay arrested on 26 April at Amritsar.

 

The case was taken over by NIA after Hilal was arrested with 29 lakh rupees of Indian currency in Punjab.

 

Punjab Police had also claimed that they have traced inter-state links of Hizbul Mujhahideen chief Riyaz Ahmed Naikoo with the arrest of two accomplices including Ranjit Singh and Iqbal Singh of his close associate, Hilal Ahmed Wagay after which NIA along with teams of Punjab Police and Haryana Police carried out intelligence-based raids in Sirsa, Haryana, officials said.

 

On May 09, National Investigation Agency (NIA) nabbed former Hizbul Mujahideen chief Riyaz Naikoo’s aide, Ranjit Singh, from Haryana’s Sirsa, the official told KNO

 

NIA said that the investigation found damning evidence against Wagay with the NIA stating that “Pakistan based militant organisations are using narcotic trade to generate funds for militant activities in India. “The proceeds of narcotic trade are transferred to Kashmir valley through Couriers and Hawala channel for militancy  purposes,” the NIA said.

The Municipal Committee Bhaderwah has taken strong exception to the stockpiling of building construction materials on the road side in Bhaderwah causing public inconvenience. It has decided to seize and impose penalty on offenders. In its latest drive , Municipal Committee Bhaderwah special team led by vice President Rishi Kotwal reached Jai road and seized the illegally dumped building material from road which included Sand and other material . The committee led by Chairman Dr Shahid Moghal , Executive Officer Mohd Ashraf Zargar in coordination with District and local administration has issued guidelines to individuals, industrial units, social or business organisations not to dump any material road side.

The order states that construction materials like bricks, sands, chips, iron rods and any other such things cannot be piled on the roadside causing obstruction to public movement. Prior to construction work the concerned individual or organisation must take the permission of the committee as per Municipial Acts .This permission does not ensure that one should cause any inconvenience to the public by any means. Executive Officer MC Bhaderwah Mohd Ashraf Zargar said,

Definitely one has to take the permission of the MC else we will impose penalty on the individual and seize the materials also.

Youth injured after mobile explodes in his hands in Tral

A 24-year-old youth from Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district was injured after his mobile exploded in his hands on Wednesday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a youth identified as Irshad Ahmad Reshie, son of Gulam Rasool Reshie of Main Tral got injured when his mobile exploded at his home.

 

He said that the youth was playing a game on mobile when it exploded due to which he has sustained injuries on his face.

 

“The injured youth was shifted to a nearby hospital, wherefrom he was shifted to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for further treatment,” he added.

 

Medical Superintendent at SMHS, Dr. Nazir Choudhary told KNO that the condition of injured youth is stable.

Three militant associates arrested in Bandipora district

Jammu and Kashmir police Wednesday arrested three militant associates of different militant outfits in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A senior police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a cordon and search operation was launched by joint teams of security forces and Bandipora Police in various parts of the district.

Three militant associates from various parts of the Bandipora district were arrested. Incriminating material was recovered from them,” the officer said.

He said that trio were involved in serious offenses like, providing shelter, logistics support, and assistance to militants operating in district from time to time.

The officer further said that the arrested trio associates belonged to different militant outfits and have been identified as Abrar Gulzar, a resident Bagh, Bandipora, Muhammad Waqar, a resident of Chettibandi,Bandipora and Muneer Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Quil Muqam, Bandipora.

He said that a case FIR number 74/2020 under section 16,18, 39UAPA, 7/27IA act have been registered in police station Bandipora and further Investigation of the case is going on.

Sarshad Natnoo, Chairperson, Block Development Council, Gundna called on Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan at DC Office Doda here today. Mr Sarshad Natnoo apprised the Advisor of various Developmental, Electrical, Educational, Unemployment, Road connectivity and Health issues of Union Territory of J&K in General and District Doda as well as Block Gundna in particular. He further demanded

the release of pending liabilities under MGNREGA, 14th FCA, IAY in order to provide relief to general public. In addition to that he further demanded for the pending approval of 14th FCA for the year 2018-19 & 2019-20 at an earliest. Mr Sarshad Natnoo mainly stressed upon the condition of HT line of whole Block Gundna in which still old GI wire and wooden poles are being used instead of the silver wire and iron poles. Mr Sarshad Natnoo also raised the issue of PDD contractors for their pending payment under Soubhagya Scheme and urged the Advisor to continue the scheme till all the villages of the Distt. Doda gets electrified.

The Advisor to Lt Governor assured the BDC Chairperson that all the genuine demands and issues put forth by him would be looked into meticulously for redressal at the earliest.
