Central Railway has announced the rollout of summer special train services connecting Pune with various destinations across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, and West Bengal. These special services are intended to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming summer holidays, ensuring smoother travel for a greater number of passengers.
The special trains will operate on special charges, and bookings have commenced through all computerised Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and the IRCTC website. Multiple services are scheduled to run between April and July 2026, with an increased number of trips planned to accommodate the heightened demand.
Pune to Danapur Services
A daily special service between Pune and Danapur (Train Nos. 01449/01450) will be operational. Train number 01449 is set to depart from Pune daily at 3:30 PM starting April 1 and concluding on July 15, 2026, arriving in Danapur at 2:45 AM on the third day. The return service, Train No. 01450, will depart from Danapur daily at 5:00 AM from April 3 to July 17, 2026, reaching Hadapsar (Pune) at 6:15 PM the following day.
Pune to Gorakhpur and other UP Destinations
Central Railway will also operate a daily Pune-Gorakhpur special service (Train No. 01415) from April 1 to April 30, 2026, departing Pune at 6:50 AM and reaching Gorakhpur at 4:00 PM the next day. The return journey, Train No. 01416, will run daily from April 2 to May 1, 2026, departing Gorakhpur at 5:30 PM and arriving in Hadapsar at 3:15 AM on the third day.
Additionally, a bi-weekly Pune-Ghazipur City Special (Train No. 01431) is scheduled to operate on Fridays and Tuesdays between April 17 and April 28, 2026. The return service from Ghazipur City will run on Sundays and Thursdays from April 19 to April 30, 2026.
Services to Nagpur and West Bengal
To enhance connectivity within Maharashtra, two weekly superfast special trains will run between Pune and Nagpur. The first service (Train No. 01469) will depart Pune every Tuesday from April 21 to July 14, 2026, arriving in Nagpur at 6:30 AM the next day. The return train, Train No. 01470, will depart Nagpur every Wednesday from April 22 to July 15, 2026. A second weekly service (Train No. 01457) will depart Pune every Wednesday from April 15 to July 15, 2026, reaching Nagpur the following morning. The corresponding return service (Train No. 01458) will depart Nagpur every Thursday from April 16 to July 16, 2026.
For travel to West Bengal, a special train service between Pune and Howrah has been announced. The Pune-Howrah special train is scheduled to depart on April 20 and April 26, 2026, with return journeys from Howrah to Pune operating on April 22 and April 28, 2026. These trains are expected to complete the journey in approximately three days.
Booking and Travel Information
Bookings for these summer special trains have opened and are available at all computerised Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and via the IRCTC website. Passengers are advised to check the detailed schedules, including stoppage timings, before commencing their journey. Some coaches, such as General Second Class and Guard/Luggage vans, will be unreserved, and tickets for these can be purchased using the UTS system.
Central Railway aims to provide greater travel convenience and reduce waitlists by operating these additional services, reflecting a proactive approach to managing seasonal passenger rush during the peak summer travel months.
