Gurugram police have implemented extensive security measures, deploying approximately 1,200 personnel to oversee the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination-2026. The examination is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 24, across 52 centres in the district, anticipating the participation of over 20,000 candidates. The deployed officers will be responsible for candidate verification, managing crowds, maintaining law and order, and conducting surveillance, particularly at locations deemed sensitive.
Traffic Management and Vigilance
In anticipation of the examination, the Gurugram traffic police have formulated a comprehensive traffic management plan aimed at facilitating the smooth movement of candidates and preventing congestion. Traffic personnel will be stationed around examination venues to ensure seamless flow and minimise disruptions. Furthermore, police rider teams are set to conduct continuous patrolling to maintain a strict vigil on the security arrangements and respond promptly to any developing situations.
Police Appeal to Public
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that a spokesperson for the Gurugram police issued an appeal to all candidates and their guardians. They were advised to depart for their respective examination centres with ample time to spare, adhere strictly to traffic regulations, and to promptly report any suspicious activities observed. The police spokesperson emphasised the commitment to ensuring the examination is conducted in a safe, peaceful, and successful manner, with the crucial cooperation of the citizenry. This large-scale deployment underscores the importance placed on the integrity and smooth execution of the UPSC preliminary examinations, a critical step in the selection process for civil services in India.
