Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the aftermath of a cloudburst in the Thathri area of Doda district, ordering immediate relief for affected families and the swift restoration of National Highway-244.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, Lieutenant Governor Sinha engaged with the Deputy Commissioner of Doda to ascertain the ground situation after the meteorological event. He confirmed that although several houses and shops sustained damage, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The Lieutenant Governor conveyed his instructions via a post on X, stating, “I have directed the DC to ensure immediate relief and assistance to the affected families and expedite restoration work, including the clearance of NH-244.”
The cloudburst, which occurred in the Thathri region, triggered flash floods and a subsequent landslide. These events led to property damage and disrupted traffic flow on National Highway-244, necessitating prompt intervention by authorities.
Emergency response teams and district administration officials were mobilized to assess the extent of the damage and commence immediate relief operations. The focus remains on providing essential support to those whose homes and businesses were impacted by the natural disaster.
