Jammu, August 28: Senior Indian Police Service officer M K Sinha assumed charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADG) for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. He succeeds Nitish Kumar, who has been transferred to the position of ADG Armed J&K.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that upon taking charge, Sinha convened a meeting with senior officials of the CID Jammu and Kashmir. During the meeting, the overall functioning of the intelligence wing was reviewed.
M K Sinha is a 1996 batch IPS officer. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as ADG (HQR) at the Police Headquarters J&K. His predecessor, Nitish Kumar, is an IPS officer from the 1999 batch and was previously serving as ADG CID and Director of the State Investigation Agency (SIA) J&K.
Senior officers from the CID Headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir extended a welcome to the newly appointed ADG CID. They assured Sinha of their full cooperation and commitment to their duties. The officers also conveyed best wishes to the outgoing ADG, Nitish Kumar, for his new role as ADG Armed J&K.
The transition marks a reshuffling of key leadership roles within the Jammu and Kashmir police department, particularly within the intelligence and armed branches. The CID plays a crucial role in gathering and analyzing intelligence to maintain law and order and counter security threats within the Union Territory.
