The Chenab Times has learned that the demolition process, which began on Saturday, targets the A-wing of the Golden Blossom apartment complex in Gottigere, off Bannerghatta Road. The structure had begun to tilt significantly, raising alarm bells among residents and authorities. The developer, Vasu Infra, has committed to rebuilding the entire affected wing, ensuring that the 49 families residing there will have their homes reconstructed.
The structural anomaly was first noticed several months ago when residents began experiencing a noticeable slant within their apartments. Investigations revealed significant discrepancies in the soil investigation report provided by an external agency, which is believed to be the root cause of the tilt. This soil report played a crucial role in the initial foundation and construction phases of the building.
Following the discovery of the tilt, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) issued a notice to the builder, directing them to take remedial actions. While the exact nature of the soil report discrepancies has not been fully detailed publicly, sources within the BBMP’s town planning section indicated that these issues were critical and directly impacted the building’s stability.
