In a poignant gesture of respect and remembrance, the administration of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has announced the names of 31 schools and roads after fallen soldiers of the J&K Police and eminent personalities. This move is a fitting tribute to those who have made supreme sacrifices for the nation and its integrity.

According to a statement issued by the J&K Police, 17 schools across the region will now bear the names of J&K Police martyrs. Districts such as Budgam, Kupwara, Kulgam, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Pulwama, Poonch, and Jammu will forever honor the memories of individuals like SI Abdul Aziz Dar, Constable Chand Mohammad Khan, SI Amanullah Khan, SgCt Amir Hussain Lone, and many others.

DGP Dilbag Singh, expressing gratitude to the Government of India, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, and his administration, highlighted the significance of this move. “Such a wonderful initiative by the government would immortalize the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives while protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the nation,” said Singh. He added that naming educational institutions after martyrs serves as a befitting tribute to their sacrifices, ensuring that their legacy endures.

The order issued by the J&K government also extends its homage to other security forces, recognizing their role in upholding national security. This step holds special importance in commemorating the selfless contributions of these individuals, underscoring the nation’s gratitude for their sacrifices.
