Karnataka SSLC Exam-1 Results Show Record 94.1% Pass Percentage

Karnataka has recorded a historic pass percentage of 94.1% in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination-1, marking a significant improvement in student performance. The results, declared on April 23, 2026, reflect a substantial increase compared to previous years, indicating a positive trend in the state’s secondary education sector.

Record Pass Rate Achieved in SSLC Exam-1

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) announced the results for the SSLC Examination-1, with a notable 94.1% of students successfully clearing the examination. This achievement represents a considerable leap from the pass percentages recorded in earlier years. The results were made available on the official KSEAB websites, including karresults.nic.in and kseab.karnataka.gov.in, as well as through the DigiLocker platform and SMS services, ensuring broad accessibility for students across the state.

The examination, which took place between March 18 and April 2, 2026, saw a large number of students participate. A total of 9,02,889 students had registered for the SSLC exam 1, comprising 8,12,855 fresh candidates, 62,845 repeaters, and 27,189 private candidates. The exams were conducted across 2,871 centers throughout the state.

Improved Performance and Access to Results

The impressive pass percentage this year is a significant development, with reports indicating a 14.06% improvement from the previous year. This surge in success rates has been attributed to various factors, including the board’s efforts to adapt examination rules and grading systems, as well as a renewed focus on student learning outcomes. The KSEAB has also implemented a multi-platform result access system, ensuring that students can conveniently check their scores through official websites, mobile applications like KarnatakaOne, SMS, and DigiLocker. This approach aims to mitigate issues related to heavy website traffic and ensure a smooth and efficient result dissemination process.

The SSLC marks card is available for download via DigiLocker, a government platform designed to provide secure digital access to academic documents. Students are required to use their registration number and date of birth to access their results. For those who wish to apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets or seek re-evaluation, the board has set specific timelines for submissions, typically extending for several days after the result declaration.

The Karnataka SSLC examination aims to assess students’ foundational knowledge and prepare them for higher education. The curriculum and examination structure are designed to ensure that students gain a comprehensive understanding of core subjects. The examination rules, including passing criteria and grading systems, are subject to periodic review to align with evolving educational standards. Notably, the board has previously made adjustments, such as reducing the passing marks from 35% to 33% and a shift towards a grading system for third language papers, though modifications to examination rules are generally implemented from the subsequent academic year.
