Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district have intensified search operations and strengthened cordons with the deployment of additional troops to track suspected militants believed to be hiding in the area. The expanded operation in the Dorimal-Gambhir Moghla belt follows a brief encounter between security forces and militants during an intelligence-based operation on Saturday.
The Chenab Times has learned that the search operations have been significantly amplified in the Dorimal-Gambhir Moghla area, with security personnel arriving to bolster the cordon and assist in the hunt for the suspected militants. The operation was initiated following specific intelligence regarding the movement of militants in the region.
A joint team comprising personnel from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a large-scale cordon-and-search operation on Saturday. This operation led to a brief exchange of fire when contact was established with the suspected militants. Following the exchange, security forces committed to continuing extensive searches throughout the forested terrain.
Preliminary reports suggest the suspected presence of two to three militants in the Dorimal-Gambhir Moghla area. The intense focus on this belt aims to neutralize any militant threat and ensure the security of the region.
In a related development, security forces also initiated a search operation in the Gudha Brahmana area of Akhnoor in Jammu district. This action was prompted by specific information received about suspicious movements. A local woman reportedly alerted security personnel to the presence of three to four masked individuals near her residence whose activities appeared suspicious.
Acting swiftly on this report, security forces immediately mobilized to the Gudha Brahmana area. They established a cordon around nearby villages and commenced searches to verify the received intelligence and locate the individuals in question. The coordinated efforts across Rajouri and Akhnoor underscore the heightened security posture in response to intelligence-driven operations and citizen information.
