J&K Govt Lifts Weekend Curfew In Six More Districts, Chenab valley still under weekend curfew

On Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir lifted the weekend corona curfew in six more districts and reinstated it in Reasi. There will be no curfew on Saturday and Sunday in thirteen of Jammu and Kashmir’s twenty districts as a result of this.

Poonch, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, and Pulwama are among the six new districts where the covid-19 curfew has been lifted.

After a review meeting of the current COVID situation with the Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education; Principal Secretary to Government, Home; Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, and other officers of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Secretary, who is also the Chairperson of the State Executive Committee, announced the relaxations in the 13 districts.

While weekend curfews have been lifted in Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, and Shopian, daily night curfews, as well as seven others, will remain in effect from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., according to Kashmir-based news agency GNS.

In addition, the government allowed all outdoor shops to open on any day of the week, but only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

‘The market associations will be required to work closely with the local administration to ensure strict adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour,’ the order continued.

According to the order, all shops in indoor shopping malls and malls can only open for customers who have been vaccinated or who have a negative RT-PCR or RAT report from the previous 48 hours.

It will be up to the shop owners, managers, and employees to ensure that it is followed. These restrictions will be strictly enforced by the District Magistrates.

“Restaurants and bars can open for in-dining at 50% of their total capacity, but only for customers who have been vaccinated or have a negative RT-PCR or RAT report from the previous 48 hours,” the order states, adding that “the establishments’ owners, staff, and managers will have to ensure compliance.”

This measure will be strictly enforced by the District Magistrates.”

For people who have been vaccinated or have a valid Covid negative report, indoor sports complexes have been allowed to open at 50% of their total capacity. “The Swimming Pools, on the other hand, will remain closed,” the statement said, adding that “Public Parks are also permitted to open only to the vaccinated public.”

The State Executive Committee stated that weekend curfews from Friday 8 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m., as well as daily night curfews from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., will continue to be enforced in other districts.

“All outdoor shops and bazaars are allowed to operate five days a week (excluding Saturdays and Sundays).”
It stated that 25% of the shops in indoor shopping malls and complexes can open if a roster is issued by the concerned Deputy Commissioners.

The SEC also ordered that no restrictions on passengers, returnees, or travellers arriving in Jammu and Kashmir by road, rail, or air be imposed. “However, they will be required to submit to a COVID-19 antigen test using any of the prescribed methods as per the Government of J&K protocol,” the order states, adding, “The protocol for management of COVID positive persons will be followed for all positive cases.”

Travelers with a valid and verifiable negative RT-PCR report from a recognised testing facility (a copy of which shall be retained by authorities-any false certificate shall render a person liable for legal action) will be allowed to enter without having to undergo a re-test at the entry point,” it added.
