Expecting mother killed, another woman critical after hit by vehicle in Bandipora

The duo-Hajra Begum, 50, wife of Abdul Ahad Dar, and Fancy Banu, 35, wife of Firdous Ahmad-both residents of Kema-were hit by a vehicle bearing registration number JK15A-0199 driven by one Sajad Ahmad Dar, son of late Ghulam Mohiduin Dar, also a local from the same village-at around 1820 hours this evening, resulting in critical injuries to both, according to a police official

While Sajad was arrested by the police, the injured women were shifted to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment.

While verifying that the injured women were brought to the hospital, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Medical Superintendent at DH Bandipora, told Greater Kashmir that due to their critical condition, they were transported to Srinagar for expert treatment. Fancy, an expectant mother, died as a result of her injuries near Ajas village, according to Dr Mushtaq.
