The Jal Shakti Department, responsible for the supply of clean water and other water-related services, is facing criticism as complaints against one of their linemen have been lodged. The Tehsildar of Kahara has suspended Mumtaz Ahmed, Lineman of Jal Shakti Department, on allegations of non-cooperation, misconduct, and dereliction of duties.
The decision to suspend Mr. Ahmed was taken during the Block Diwas programme, which was held at High School Dharyouth on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Doda, as per details available with The Chenab Times. The event, intended to bring government services closer to the people, received several complaints against the lineman. It is important to note that the Jal Shakti Department is a vital service for the people of the region and requires the utmost diligence and commitment from its staff.

Naib Tehsildar Halaran has been given the responsibility of conducting a detailed enquiry and submit the report within 15 days. The decision to suspend Mr. Ahmed has been widely welcomed by the local people, who have expressed their dissatisfaction with the services provided by the Jal Shakti Department. It is hoped that the investigation will reveal any wrongdoing and help to improve the quality of service provided by the department.
This is not the first time that the Jal Shakti Department has faced criticism. In recent years, there have been complaints of water scarcity, poor water quality, and inadequate supply of water in some areas. The government has taken steps to address these issues, including the launch of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship program that aims to provide clean water to every household in the country.
The suspension of Mr. Ahmed is a reminder that government officials must be held accountable for their actions, and any misconduct or dereliction of duties cannot be tolerated. The investigation into the allegations against the lineman must be transparent and impartial, and the authorities should take strict action if he is found guilty.
