Athletes from different sports like Taekwondo and Athletics staged a protest today at Bana Singh Stadium and M.A. Stadium Jammu, respectively, in support of the Secretary of the J&K Sports Council. More than 300 athletes condemned the act, along with the Taekwondo coaches of the J&K Taekwondo Association. The protest was against all such self styled sports people, be they athletes or coaches, as kids these days have been decieved by such fake people.
Speaking to the Chenab Times, Atul Pangotra (International Taekwondo Coach), said, “We have never witnessed such a shameful act before. Higher authorities must intervene in it. He further added that sports council secretary Mam is on a run to disclose such fake people and associations, and this is the reason she is being targeted. We will not let such people stop our worthy secretary, we will always be with her.”
Another instructor, Rohit Sharma, added that it is a matter of concern that why are there still administrative officers and police/Army officials encouraging these people by gracing their fake championships with their presence? This needs to be stopped now. It is now more important than ever to secure sports in J&K.
