Himachal Pradesh Governor, Kavinder Gupta, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss development initiatives and welfare programs for the state. This meeting marked Gupta’s first interaction with the Prime Minister since assuming his gubernatorial responsibilities.
The Chenab Times has learned that during the meeting, Governor Gupta provided the Prime Minister with an update on several key initiatives being implemented across Himachal Pradesh. These included efforts to establish a Drug-Free Himachal and a TB-Free Himachal, aimed at improving public health and fostering social well-being within the state.
Governor Gupta also highlighted Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to natural farming practices. He informed the Prime Minister that a growing number of farmers and orchardists in the state are increasingly adopting chemical-free agricultural methods. This shift towards sustainable farming is seen as crucial for the long-term environmental health of the region and for enhancing the livelihoods of agricultural communities.
The Governor emphasized the importance of further promoting and expanding these natural farming initiatives. He stated that such efforts would enable Himachal Pradesh to fully embrace eco-friendly agriculture, ensuring sustained environmental protection and improved economic prospects for its farmers. The transition to sustainable agriculture is a significant focus for the hill state.
Furthermore, Governor Gupta stressed the necessity of continued support and guidance from the Central Government to accelerate the pace of developmental initiatives across Himachal Pradesh. He indicated that collaborative efforts between the state and the central government are vital for the effective implementation and success of various projects designed to uplift the state and its residents.
The discussions also touched upon the broader economic development strategies for Himachal Pradesh, with Governor Gupta seeking the Prime Minister’s insights and support.
