SRINAGAR: A tragic incident in the Saimoh area of Tral, Pulwama district, has resulted in the death of a ten-year-old boy after a tractor overturned on Friday. The accident, which occurred near a school, has reignited concerns regarding the safety of heavy vehicles left unattended on inclines.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the deceased has been identified as Salim Ahmad Ganie, a local resident of Saimoh Tral. Preliminary reports indicate that the boy was on a tractor that had been parked on a slope when the vehicle unexpectedly moved or overturned.
Eyewitness accounts and initial reports suggest that the child may have been attempting to operate or start the tractor at the time of the incident. The vehicle reportedly overturned abruptly, trapping the young boy underneath and causing him to sustain severe injuries.
Locals present in the vicinity heard cries for help and immediately rushed to the scene to assist. Despite their efforts to rescue the child, he had already suffered fatal injuries and passed away before any medical assistance could be administered. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the precise circumstances that led to the accident.
