Jammu and Kashmir: 538 Agniveers Graduate from JAK LI Centre in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regimental Centre in Srinagar celebrated the successful completion of rigorous military training for 538 Agniveers. The 7th batch of recruits passed out on Saturday, marking their formal induction into the Indian Army.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Attestation-cum-Passing Out Parade was conducted with traditional military fanfare, signifying the culmination of 24 weeks of intensive training for the Agniveers. The event underscored the commitment and dedication of these new recruits to national service.

Lieutenant General PK Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, presided over the parade as the chief guest. He reviewed the passing out contingent and addressed the graduating Agniveers and their assembled families. Lt Gen Mishra conveyed his congratulations to the recruits for successfully completing the demanding training program.

He emphasized that the Agniveers were now becoming integral members of the esteemed JAK LI Regiment. The General highlighted the regiment’s core ethos, which extends beyond mere sacrifice for the nation to encompass a life dedicated to service, honor, and duty. He lauded the Indian Army’s rich history, characterized by bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Lt Gen Mishra described the Indian Army not just as a border-guarding force, but as a symbol of trust, security, and hope for the citizens of India. He elaborated on the Army’s crucial role during various national challenges, including wars, counter-militant operations, and natural disasters, reiterating its position as a primary source of support and assurance during critical times.

Addressing the newly inducted soldiers, the GOC stated that they would now carry the aspirations and trust of millions of Indians along with the army uniform and rank. He expressed his confidence that their courage, determination, and perseverance would serve as an inspiration to future generations. He urged the Agniveers to uphold the distinguished traditions of the Indian Army through unwavering dedication, discipline, and professionalism.

The General Officer Commanding also took the opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable support provided by the families of the Agniveers. He thanked them for encouraging their children to embark on a career in the Indian Army, recognizing their pivotal role in the recruits’ journey. Senior Army officials, alongside numerous family members and other dignitaries, were present to witness the ceremony and welcome the new Agniveers into the ranks of the Indian Army.
