Jammu, August 17: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army’s Northern Command, undertook a visit to forward areas along the Line of Control in Poonch district on Monday. The Army’s Northern Command, headquartered in Udhampur, stated in an official post on X that the commander was apprised of the operational readiness and the difficulties inherent in the demanding deployment environment. In a separate development, the Northern Command also reported that students participating in the Higher Defence Management course visited the Command Headquarters in Udhampur. These ‘scholar-warriors’ received comprehensive briefings on a range of critical aspects, including the prevailing security environment, operational imperatives, dynamics of counter-militancy operations, operational logistics, the absorption of new technologies, and overall capability development within the Command’s operational jurisdiction.
