SRINAGAR: In a significant administrative move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, the Sopore Police District in Jammu and Kashmir has undertaken a reshuffle of seven police officers. The transfers and postings, effective immediately, affect various police stations and posts within the district.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the directive was issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore. Inspector Ayaz Rasool Geelani has been transferred from District Police Lines (DPL) Sopore and appointed as the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Dangiwacha. Concurrently, Inspector Iftkhar Hussain has been moved from Police Station Tarzoo to assume the role of SHO Police Station Sopore.
Inspector Syed Owais Geelani is now the SHO of Police Station Panzalla, having been transferred from DPL Sopore. Inspector Syed Junaid Showkat, who previously served as SHO Police Station Dangiwacha, has been reassigned to DPL Sopore. His new responsibilities include serving as RI/C ERSS/PCR Sopore.
Furthermore, Inspector Mohammad Shafi has been transferred from Police Station Panzalla and posted as the SHO of Police Station Tarzoo. The order also facilitates a rotation between two Sub-Inspectors. PSI Khalid Mehmood has been moved from his role as IC Police Post Frutimandi to IC Police Post Watergam. Complementing this, PSI Mohammad Owaise has been transferred from IC Police Post Watergam to assume charge at IC Police Post Frutimandi.
The reshuffle has been implemented with the overarching objective of ensuring the effective functioning of police stations, police posts, and other operational units across the Police District Sopore. Such periodic administrative adjustments are considered crucial for maintaining administrative efficacy and operational readiness within law enforcement agencies.
The issued order stipulates that the transferred officers are to be relieved forthwith and are expected to report to their new places of posting without any designated joining time. The directive also mandates a thorough handover and takeover process, encompassing official records, ongoing case files, government property, and essential arms and ammunition, to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities.
In a separate development, DySP (Probationer) Akash Kapoor has been relieved of his independent charge of Police Station Sopore. This change follows the completion of his two-month practical training period at the station. He has been directed to report back to DPL Sopore to continue with the remaining components of his prescribed practical training program, a standard procedure for probationers within the police service.
These movements are part of standard administrative procedures designed to optimize resource allocation and ensure accountability within the police department, contributing to public safety and law and order in the region.
