A religious excursion turned into a devastating tragedy for a family from Nakodar when a severe road accident near Phillaur claimed the lives of a 38-year-old man, his wife, and their six-year-old daughter. The bereaved family has expressed their profound grief and appealed to the police and administration for justice following the incident.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the family was en route home after visiting a dera in Nakodar, accompanied by relatives. The deceased have been identified as Vinay, 38, his wife Suman, 35, and their daughter Kaveesha, aged six. They were travelling on a scooter at the time of the collision.
The accident occurred in the vicinity of the Haripur Khalsa Gate in Phillaur. Reports indicate that a speeding car collided with the scooter, causing significant damage to the two-wheeler. Suman and Kaveesha were reportedly pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the impact. Vinay sustained critical injuries in the accident.
Vinay was promptly transported to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries later, bringing the total number of fatalities to three. The tragic loss has deeply affected their relatives and friends, who are struggling to come to terms with the sudden demise of three family members.
Family members of the victims have voiced their demand for stringent action against the responsible party. The driver of the car involved in the collision reportedly sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
